White House's Opportunity Project (2016)

In September 2016, I have been fortunate to participate in the Opportunity Project, an open data effort run by the White House which put data and tools in the hands of civic leaders, community organizations, and families to help them navigate information about critical resources such as access to jobs, housing, transportation, schools, and other neighborhood amenities.

My contribution to the project was a tool that helps community leaders find summer meal sites for students in need who usually get a free or reduced price lunch but do not have an alternative during the summer in Washington, D.C.

Below is the link to the write-up of the project in Wolfram Community:

On October 6, 2016, I traveled to the White House to present the project to the White House Opportunity Project team, industry experts, among them Chief Technology Officer Megan Smith and Chief Data Scientist D.J Patil. It was a very special experience to say the very least.
